Jim Cooper on 3 points on Walton and Hersham. 5 Mar 2010 "I'm over the moon with the win. We looked a very tired team in the opening stages and gave away a penalty. Mo made a good save and from that point they hardly troubled us apart from long balls in the box. To be honest it was our worst performance for some weeks so to come away with the win is fantastic. Games against Walton are always hard fought, it was a scrappy affair at times but we created the better chances and we should have scored more than one. I made 5 changes from Tuesday's win, I left out some very good players but I have faith in my squad and the lads that came in did very well. It makes selection for Saturday very difficult and I always had that in mind. Folkestone now stand in our way, the league leaders and a very good side. They have not played on Thursday so we have a very difficult task ahead. They took the points with a 94th minute goal earlier in the season, it was an even game and we had our chances. I'll be looking to do better this time. We'll just take one game at a time and see where we are come 5pm on Saturday. I've signed Liam Wright. He is a left sided player who previously played for Sutton United. He made a good contribution last night and set up the goal. We welcome Liam to the club". |
